St Joseph & St Theresa is now a registered Rainbows site!
Rainbows is a national programme that helps children to adapt who are struggling with a loss through divorce, separation, death or any other painful transition in their lives.
School will provide a safe setting in which children can talk through their feelings with their peers who are experiencing similar situations.
They are helped to articulate their feelings by a trained facilitator. Confidentiality is at the heart of the programme.
Rainbows provides activities over a 12 week programme to support self-esteem, trust, confidence and resilience. The programme is free and runs once a week during the day. “The programme made a huge difference to our family life. We found that our son was more able to cope with what was happening at home” - Year 4 parent.
Mrs Stanley is our Co-ordinator and will work with the school facilitators to set up the programmes each term for a selected group of children. If you think your child could benefit from joining a programme please let Mrs Stanley or Mrs Walker know
